A Few Questions

Hi, im new here of course and new to the hobby. I currently have a 46 gallon bow front glass tank with a stand and canpoy, that I will be setting up soon. I had an idea but i dont know how it would look. While most people have black or blue backgrounds for there aquariums, how would a frosted glass back look? Has anybody done this before? Also what kind of lighting should I be looking at for the tank because the inside dimensions of the canpoy are 36.5"L 11"D(15"at the bow) and 5"H and that seems too small to be able to fit anything in there.

you might need to do a custom canopy if you want to do hilides. about the frosted background... the reason i believe most beople do dark backgrounds is so the colors of the fish and corals stand out more. If you do a light background it will take away some of the color, and wont look as sharp. hope this helps. oh ya welcome to R.C.

HI Sparky

I think a frosted background might be kinda cool. I don't recall seeing one like that yet.
As far as lighting you could go with a retro kit under the canopy or the Sunpod will likely fit that tank If you want to go topless.

Hmm, im looking at the Armour Etch website, the stuff used to "frost" glass, and it says "NOT recommended for etching large solid areas of glass." Would the back of my aquarium fall into that category?
