A fun day at Nook's Reef

Probably missed this in the post or another thread, but what is the overall direction of this tank? I like the lobster claw layout and depending on if you are adding coral, it will look completely different in 1-2 years when things are grown out on top of those rocks.

Thanks for the nice comments, the nitrite is down to 2 after 11 days and green algae is growing on the tops of the rock and glass as expected/desired. I'll add some of my monster turbo snails once nitrite is zero.

I was aiming for a somewhat mixed reef so all of my eggs aren't in the same basket with only SPS. I'm going to place the Ritteri Anemones on that back rock wall against the rear overflow box. The side middle areas will see some LPS like torch, hammer, and bubble corals. Towards the center middle will be a couple big stag horn SPS and approaching the Front millepora and acropora with some Maxima and Crocea clams interspersed. I also have some nice Nam stuff to place in lower levels on the sand as filler, primarily shrooms, ricordea yuma and a few maxi mini anemones for sides of rock. I like how the maxi mini anemones stay put and the more cover with those guys and shrooms, the less room for aiptasia and nuisance algae's.

Of course this is only my current thinking and will probably change a bit based on how things look and interact with each other. Light is 4 250 watt Radiums and 4 110 watt UVL VHO Super actinic.

Things are progressing quickly, 12 days after adding 320 pounds of fresh, flown in Fiji Pukani:

Thanks!

I sold the 12x24 which was rated for 1200 gallons and went with an 8x24 for about 600 gallons.

What are you going to call the Frontosa tank? It needs a name. Humphead Lake?
