If your system is clean enough to keep a gig healthy, then your system is healthy enough for it to survive a forced split or getting chopped up in a vortech.


Any kind of injury to a gig is 90 percent of time kill it weather it be power head or split. The 10 percent of the time is when they are in a very clean healthy system.

Randy, how are these guys doing? Both still doing well?

Both are still alive and well. Had a large Alk swing that bleached them out a bit when I had problems with my Calcium Reactor a month or so ago. I've taken a few pics since my last post on these guys, but have been ridiculous busy with work. Hoping to get everything caught up NLT this weekend.

Both are regularly eating my "seafood blend". Well when I say regularly, its whenever I think to defrost some and venture into my basement. Maybe once a month or so.
