A good Clam Book? etc

Can anyone recommend a good beginners clam book or site...?

I have my 135 set up with 2X 250 MH kits. One at each end of the canopy....I have my base/live rock built up at the far ends on a gradual 45 degree angle so that the lighting is on the rocks.

The area in the middle does not get nearly as much light as the ends, obviously, and I have left it devoid of rock and just kept my live sand in there. Now; I have had my tank up and running for only two months but the live rock/sand is from an established tank (4 yrs).

How long should I have this tank up and functional before attempting my first clam...?

What sort of equipment is a 'must-have' for keeping clams ? I have no experience with clams and I want to be sure not to present a death sentence for one through ignorance.

i would wait 9 months to a year before you add a clam. clams need strong lighting and high stable Ca and Alk. James Fatherree is coming out with a new book in a few months that is supposed to be very in-depth (if you can wait).
