A great refugium lightbulb, IMHO!

My fuge light went for a swim :eek1: The GFCI worked (whew).

Time for a new one I was thinking of maybe getting one a bit bigger than the TCP 19W/85W bulb I was using. Googled and found some that look promising.

What would be enough for a 16Wx18Lx12D 15G fuge?

These are 5000K and are available in 20W/90W, 26W/120W, 30W/130W

At a Home Depot here in Canada they sell a Phillips brand flood that is the 19watt equivelant to to 75w. It looks to be the same as the bulbs pictured in this thread. Does anybody know if they are 2700k or 5100k?

Call the number on the packaging to find out. I just call right there from the store with my cellphone.

Hey Marc,
I am about to add a HOB refugium to my 55 gallon. I got the large size by CPR, it's 24 inches long, 4 inches wide. Which bulb would be better for this setup. The flood light that you've switched to or the spiral light?

That's tough. 4" wide - I'd almost recommend a 55w/65w 6500K PC bulb as it would do the job and fit that need. Or maybe a single T5 fixture. You'll still get growth with a 6500K bulb.

Anyone know if you can do a search on Homedepot.com for these type of bulbs?
I cant seem to find it on there website. Is there a model # that i have to enter?

I have entered the sku # as stated in the beginning of the thread.

jay-cee123,

go to melev's site (melevsreef.com) and go to the hidden treasures page. near the bottom right theres a link to an article with all the part/sku numbers you would need. Melev's site rocks!!

Where can you get that spring loaded clamping socket? I want to make and clamp a socket to some 2x4 framing. I checked at lowes and couldn't find it.

If you mean that socket that has a round "dome" reflector around the bulb and it has a "squeeze-clamp" you can get them at Home Depot.

Yes that's the department where I found it...where the heavy duty extention cords are at Home Depot.

i have a 29 gal sump with chaeto growing under a coralife aqualight. How many of those 75 watt bulbs would i need to have on the sump? If i could use them instead of the aqualite i would love to. My dad has been on me about the electric bill. Thanks.
