Hello everyone,
I have been seriously considering buying a pair of captive bred A. Latezonatus clownfish. The clowns I have been considering are coming from Karen B through a middle man and they do exhibit the full middle stripe as their wild counterparts.
Since these clowns have been captive bred and reared in normal reef conditions (76-82 F) I will not have to worry about temperature as much as I would with wild caught latzs. The tank that these clowns would be going into is a 120 gallon 4 foot tank with a 40 breeder sump. These clowns would be the showcase of my tank and would replace my current breeding pair of misbar oscellaris clowns.
Since these clowns are exceedingly rare, there is only marginal information available online regarding their care. This is where I turn to my trusted colleagues and reef keepers on reefcentral. What is your experience with these fish if any? What is their temperment? At what age do they begin to show their adult coloration (blue lips, fins, etc)? What kind of host anemones do they prefer? What kind of diet/special needs do they require?
Any pertinent information is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,
Robert
