I saw a beautiful orange pair at a wholesaler about a year ago that were already sold. I later found out that someone came in after me and offer more money and took them home. I wished I had asked more questions, because I would have paid about twice what they actually went for.
I think a lot of the decrease in popularity stems from the fact that most of ones that come in are on the ugly side. Instead of being orange, they are brown and chrysopterus-like in shape and temperament instead of being skunk-like. And obviously they are not very common in the wild, so aren't all that easy to collect.
