Walter, the door going down stairs is 30", however the tank has to be put on end in hallway to make turn at the top. Then at the bottom of stairs it is tight as well. I remember my last tank (150) we just made it. I think maybe a 180 would fit but I worry about jarring the tank and weakening the seams. I cant deal with another tank blowout.
