Raining today, figured I'd get a couple of quick shots in ...

Here's 4 different lighting setups on the same coral colony. Don't be afraid to play with your lighting possibilities and white balance adjustments.

that last one, is it with actinic lights on? its amazing! I can see how zoa's could easily be mis-identified just from the lighting in peoples pictures, thats why i wont buy anything i cant see in person first.

You are right about the id problems, I could make those look just about any way I want with PS color swaps (which I didn't do with any of the above), the last two images are 'as seen' under MH and Actinic lighting respectively, the only alteration was telling the RAW file converter what color temp the lighting was (WB).
 
All nice pics, but the bottom one turned out especially good. Messing with the settings on your cam to find the desired effect is such a fun learning process.
