A little something to grin about

Since I haven't posted in a while I thought I would give you guys/gals something to smile about. I recently bought a travel trailer and we have been spending alot of time out on the road in it. Well the trips started getting longer than I had water in the sump for so I added an auto top off. Let me say that I don't think you will find a better auto topoff than a tunze osmolator easy to install and works out of the box with out adjustments, bubbles aren't a problem at all. So that was all well but I needed to feed the guys as well so I opted for a Rena LG100 Very nice and heavy built unit feels like really good quality. Getting ready for a trip over Christmas, I decided I better get it installed so I tinkered with it away from the aquarium and figured it out, also easy to setup I thought. Well I went over figured out where on the back of the tank I wanted it then, mounted it as stated. Played with the buttons watched it spin and thought that is the greatest thing since sliced bread, I am sure my fish were amazed to as they were circling below waiting for something to happen. As I sit looking at it I thought wait a minute let me drop some food and see how big of a hole I will need in the screen on the top and cut that out. I dropped the food about where it would and it blew across the tank and into the floor. Humm dummy maybe you should put it away from the fans. So I decided to move it and I did without unplugging it easy move. After I got it where I wanted it I though get the food. I turned around and within milliseconds I heard splash, whipped around and watched it sink to the bottom. I reached in and grabbed it pulled it out and instead of crying decided it would be better to laugh  Fish were all ok coral should be fine, pocket book $70 lighter. Merry Christmas to All!

Funny story. I can just see you... all in the Christmas mood, fiddling with your tank, and then "Ho Ho...Noooooooooooo!"
Reminds me of several things I've done over the years.

Try letting it dry out.. I would unplug it ofcourse and rinse it really well with freshwater.. Then just let it sit for a week or so. You might be suprised.. Most electronics can handle getting wet. They just have to dry out before they will work again.. I've got a couple of 20 dollar automatic feeders I use when we are out of town.. They take a couple of double As so no AC power. They work pretty good.. Not as nice as the Rena But they do the job.
