a miracle delivery... need advice

No, I wasn't saying that they were offering free upgrades, but I thought they might. But it doesn't appear that way - it looks like they'll give you a $25 rebate on the upgrade kit, so it would only cost you $50/pump rather than $75:

From their site:

* You must have purchased the MP40w between 1/1/10 and 4/30/10
* You must provide a receipt from an authorized retailer and the UPC from the MP40w box
* You must have purchased the EcoSmart Upgrade kit from the EcoTech Marine Parts Store before 4/30/2010
* You must provide a receipt from the EcoTech Marine Parts Store
* You must postmark the rebate packet within 30 days of purchase of the EcoSmart Upgrade kit

I know they supposedly dropped the price on the standard MP40ws to $395 due to the upgrade. So, if you only paid this (or less), you probably don't have much to complain about. Otherwise, I would either consider doing the upgrade, or sending them back and buying the new MP40w ES.

As for the instruction manual, here's a link to it:

If the link doesn't work for some reason, send me a PM and I'll e-mail it to you.

Tick Tock Tick Tock.... Are you pacing thru the house yet asking yourself is it here yet? Now is it? :spin3:

Can't wait to see this up and running. Very Nice setup.

LOL, the truck was late 45min.... the driver was real nice helped unload and load the crates, movers were a bunch of really good guys as well, and very prompted; "Reliable Movers"

had to clean up the lawn and house a little as styroam broke and blew all over the place :) ... but here are some pictures:

crate to offload,

while waiting for the delivery truck, we put a plan in place, to use another truck to move the crate across the lawn, i believe someone suggested this for the first tank delivery, worked out great!

crate was held together with 2 metal straps, there was a few screws as well,

Wow! Yummy!
:)

oh man....THIS IS KILLING ME....i only saw a little glass.....come on!!!!
hehhe :)

as the movers began manuvering the tank, they said it was very very heavy, the tone quickly changed, took quite a bit of effort to put it in the vertical position, so i offer to help out as much as i can, so there was no pictures from the truck to stand move, ...i must say they sure earned their money! they said it probably weighed close to 500lbs,

i also had derek make this piece, it will go on the bottom inside of the tank,

And I think the moves estimated pretty well on the weight of the tank. According to something I found online, glass is 1.7 lbs. for every 1/8" thick square foot of glass. So, that means your tank is 10.2 lbs. for every square foot of glass (3/4" thick), and if your tank is 4' x 4' x 2' you should have 48 sq. ft. of glass to produce it. 48 * 10.2 = 489.6 lbs.

So, tell the movers they are a bunch of wusses, as the tank is a good 10 lbs. under 500.

ummm , most are still in the ocean and then the lfs around the world and after that you will find the fish in pedestrian reef tanks like yours .

\gasp/

It's beauuuutyfull! :inlove:

I'm already visualizing how I'd arrange furniture around that puppy. Couch on each side with rugs all around to catch the drool... lol

Where are the fish?
no fish yet, but do have the first tank mate :D it hitched a ride at some point,

YAY! We all feel like we've been waiting too :) You must be thrilled! So gorgeous - going to be SO much fun to fill!!
thanks for the compliments, am sorry for the wait, took awhile with the truck being late and stuff, movers boss was getting anxoius, calling up every now and then, actually was talking about charge extra,

My day is complete now. here's my thought....leather benches all the way around, with a 2ft space for entering and exiting on either side. And i tell ya what....my TV would be at the curb.

thanks, Jason....my day would not be complete if I didn't have to wipe something off my laptop screen.......:hmm4:

naw you need to keep the TV for "planet earth" episodes and the family guy as the fish tank will be the center of attraction but there is room for second best on a rainy day .

ok, you win. because i'd hate to miss Blue Planet.......good point.

but nevertheless.....THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL TANK!
