Back into the box to store it until you are ready, or are you sending it back because you think it is overkill? I didn't think there was any such thing when it came to a skimmer...

its a Royal-Exclusiv Alpha 300 Cone Skimmer Capacity 225g - 600g(CnP ), i am thinking well end up with about 300-400 gal system total.

240gal display,
+20gal frag tank,
+20gal refugium tank,
+20gal mechanical filteration tank,
+20gal return tank

and probably,
+20gal bangaii breading tank-a bit successful at this,
+20gal clownfish breading tank-will attempt,

havent really thought about he basement setup yet

i ordered it from Premium Aquatics, submitted it friday and received it the following monday! this vendor too has great customer service, josh was very good with emails, actullay called me at work to discuss pricing. if you want pm me to get details of the transaction, you might save some money too

thanks for the very kind words mark, it means a lot coming from you, but i have to disagree... after all this i hope we can grow sps at least half as nice as you, then it will be all worth it

i sure hope this skimmer works well in our setup, as my wife is planning to have lots and lots of fish, i have feeling that this skimmer wont perform as well as its smaller brothers, this is what came with the skimmer:

drill some holes, boy that was a chore...

prep the top with 1/2" styrofoam, not sure if i should remove the underlayer silver foil, guy at lowes says it will keep in the heat

If you can't grow SPS with this trick setup, it's the SPS's fault, not yours. :lol:

Looks amazing. It's kinda neat that your tank and mine will pretty much be polar opposites: Wicked cool skimmer vs. none. In wall vs. rimless. T5 vs. LEDs. We've got the whole realm of possibilities spanned.
