a neon goby story

Yesterday I aquired a juvenile blue neon goby. I have come to know that he is spry, clever, can stick to walls, and, as I also found out, is a skilled and calculating jumper. I had him in a specimen container suspended in the main tank, with some rock from my mature nano and an airstone. Well, apparently he didn't like it in there. About an hour after the last time i saw him in there i went to show him to my roomate and couldn't find him. I looked all over looking for him in the rock or a dried fish on the floor. Then i shut off the tank light and saw something resembling a tiny black rod dart under a rock. Yeah. My opposable thumbs were no match for this critter that day i can tell you (fish-pwned).

hopefully he'll survive in there. The tank he ended up in isn't quite ready for fish yet (the hitchiker inverts are doing fine though) and I'm not sure i can get him out safely {:\

Notes to self:
1. Cover the specimen container next time (you A$$!)
2. Don't use an immature tank to thermoregulate a segregated specimen.
3. Don't forget that you still needed a heater for your Q-Tank in the first place!
