More is not enough
Hello Everyone,

I made quite a lot of new images lately, and was eager to share some with you. Comments and advices are most welcomed as usual!

:)

let's start with a polychete worm...

then, can someone tell me what are these little flowers? I thought about a soft coral, clavularia type, but I don't really know...

Then, I can show you the Favia eating a flake:

and the same Favia, actinic lighted:

I like the view from upside down, and you can even see a copepod critter in his side!!

that's all folks!! thanks for having a look!

Wow, I really like the Lysmata Wurdemanni shrimp. :D Amazing shot. Do you have a FTS?

Cheers

Love pics 5, 7 and 9. Some need a little more intense color. Try taking most of your pics with actinic, that one turned out fantastic.

hello!

thanks for the nice comments ;)

Grunt, what is an FTS?

Reefman, yes, actinic light makes fantastic colours, I agree! For my tank, actinic-only is reserved for morning and evening time, tough, even if my 2 actinic tubes work all day long as well with the white ones.
I know in the USA you have a much more blue lighting than us here. Can you recommand a brand for blue tubes, with very intense color than be be noticable even during daylight, with the white on as well?

About the dull colors, I agree as well, but a see a big diference between my high res and the jpeg I optimize for the web (using the photoshop optimization tool). Does someone know why I get this "dull veil" when my images are transfered from tif to jpeg??? I'm searching for a long time, couldn't guess what's responsible for this. A little help would be fantastic!!!

;)

Hello Dave,

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! My tank is 120 cm long, that must make like 47,2 inches. I have a set up for 4 X T5 tubes, each 47 inches. What I use for the moment is 2 white Osram and 2 blue Giesemann Actinic +

thanks again for your recommendation!

Are you working in the same color space throughout (e.g. sRGB)?

Ebn, I think you spotted right! I checked once again the differnt profile between the camera, the High res and the jpeg, and when I harmonize all the tools with the same profiles, it works!!
thanks veryvery much!!! ;)

ok, lol, FTS, now I got it!! so here is one:

it was shot 3 weeks ago... but I added a gorgonian, since then, so the center looks like this now:

I can't wait to see everything grow, because as you can see, it's almose all about frags from the moment!

;)

Hi, sorry I should've typed it out all the way, was alittle lazy :D
I like the clowns. Thanks for the full shot, looks good.

Also, does your longnose hawkfish nip at your shrimp?

Cheers

Try taking a few pics with one of the white light bulbs in the fixture. You can get some cool blue pics with that.

OK I'll try that, as I also thing a bluer tone would be nicer! thanks for the tip!

About the hawkfish, no, he never annoyed the shrimps, though I have many of them: 3 debelius, 3 wurdemanni and 1 stenopus, as well as 3 Lybias crabs, a Neopetrolisthes and a mitrax... It would have been a lot of nice treats for him, but he never seemed to care. Of course, I feed the tank quite largely, and I won't dare to take shrimps like Sexy shrimps, to avoid a too strong tentation! ;)

Does someone know if there's an "album section" on the forum, so everyone could have his own page with pictures and tank details? I would love to see your tanks, as you, from the USA, always got beautiful and unusual animals!

;)

LOVE the Strombus snail pic! It just has this vibe to it...personality if you will....something like the caption saying "DUDE! What the heck *is* that over there?!"
