A New Light

Hello Everyone,
Well for some reason my light bit the dust. I all it seems to do now is just flicker whenever I press the on button is flicker. I think it might be the starter that is broken. Anyway if for some reason if I can't seem to fix it does anyone have a suggestion for a 40g tall tank. I would prefer something not too exprencive and if possible LED. Also does anyone know of some that have a timer?
Thanks,

Expensive is relative. On a 40b LEDs exclusively I would get 2 AI Primes without breaking the bank

The evergrows are nice but if you're looking for something on more of a budget check out the Mars Aqua lights, I'd go with the 300w if you choose that route.

Mars aqua ARE evergrows. Mars Aqua is just a distributor that puts their sticker on the evergrow and answers phone calls

How sure are you about that fact? I don't think EG makes fixtures for MA. They do for ReefBreeders, OceanRevive and ReefRadiance, I know those 100% for sure. But I don't think EG makes fixtures for other aquarium fixture resellers.

+1 on this, personally have never ran the AI Prime's but I know people who have with great success. Solid, good looking fixture with a built in controller is a huge bonus. I know $400 isnt cheap (for both combined) but when compared to a couple radions it's definitely appealing. A couple Kessil's would work great as well, but if you want wireless control you need to purchase a seperate controller, but this could allow you to spread out your purchase.

China blackbox lights are really not bad either. A lot of people have them here and have had honestly decent success with them.

I still stick with my recommendation of the AI Primes, Kessils are a close second.

Another thought I just had, You could always go to lowes or homedepot, find a pendant fixture you like, and run some PAR 38 bulbs, I would do three on a 40b. This would save some $$.

Thanks for some of the suggestions, I was wondering if anyone knew of a light the would have a built in timer to it, this type of light i dont need to be LED
