Here is a new comer from Indonesia.
It is apparently a male of an undescribed species of Cirrhilabrus.
It was shown in some book and mags as C. joanallenae but the latter has a totally different dorsal fin, that is elongate with a narrow, longer filament. The species shown here has a rounded, dome-like dorsal fin and having no filament.
The body is deep red with a distinct band that looks metallic gold rather than yellow; belly is pure white, and all fins are blackish.
I got two males (70mm & 75mm) and both are quite similar each other (70mm long male is shown). I was informed that it has been collected in somewhere in Indonesia; Sulawesi, or Java but the detail is not known.
Drs. Allen and Randall agreed that it is new to science, and mine would be sent to one of them for examination someday. They asked me where it was collected, but I cannot detect the locality yet. I hope to know the area where this species occurs, and I will greatly appreciate you when you inform me of anything about locality, its natural habitat, etc. Thank you very much.
