a nice lense or what

i am in the market for a new lense (who isnt) and was looking at the sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 macro http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/530247-REG/Sigma__17_70mm_f_2_8_4_5_DC_Macro.html

i wont be using this for fish tank pictures. will be my main walk around lense. is this some good glass or what?

No experience with that lens but if you're still shopping around, you may want to take a look at this one:

I have this cheap lens and I'm very satisfied with it. It's also very light, sharp and fast.
