A question for the sump

Hello my friends ,
i would like to ask you if i will have any problems if i will put the return pump in the refugium compartment in order to have more space for the refugium . Why all the sumps have a separate compartment for the return pump ?

Hi, the reasons why most people put there pumps seperate is...

A) most people make a bubble trap before there pump so you don't get micro bubbles in your dt

B) if you place the pump in your Refug selection it's going to suck all the sand/ macro alge or what ever else you put in it.

C) the refugium has a much lower flow through it than your display tank; a return pump in there would empty it quickly.
