ok, first off: cowcio - you are my new best friend!
and ficklefins - you
nailed it!!!
it's kinda funny, that suggestion has been made a few times!
in all seriousness though: i think submissions would go down really quick if that were a requirement. especially considering that a lot of people's aquisistions are only a few polyps to begin with! i appreciate the thought and generosity of the notion, but dont' see people sending me PPE to get their zoas up there. know what i mean?
having said that, there have been a few trades i've initiated to get a certain specimen so i can photo it w/ the DSLR.
nevermind that the pieces are gorgeous and i wanted them anyways, ha!
but they were trades from my own stock as opposed to gifts.
i do see and like your logic of defined photoshooting parameters. and one of these days i'll get my act together and submit all the zoas that are in my tank (yup, i've got quite a few that aren't up on zoaid myself, heh!).
i've considered visiting a few peeps that have extensive collections and bringing along the DSLR & underwater box so we can get at least shots from the same camera and techniques though... some 45 minutes away, some a few hours away, and some... even across the nation, heh!
