like it says in the subject......

i want a rose bubble tip anemone in my 12 gal but i dont know if it would work??

any suggestions??

thanks

It might, it might not. I'd say there's a better chance of it becoming too large for the 12g tank before splitting.

Plus, it can be tough to keep the water quality stable in a 12g tank.

12 gal is fine. I have two BTA's in a 14 gallon and they are doing fine. One of which is an RBTA. I kept RBTA's in 12 gallons before. Really the size isn't such an issue as long as you have good water qualtiy, high powered lights, and steady temperature. It will do fine. As far as getting too big, I've never had that problem, they usually split when they get too big. Good luck with it

if you have a bta in a tank that small that should be the only animal other than a clown in there, otherwise if it puffs up or moves you are looking at corals getting stung...trust me, I had my RBTA in a 20 for 2 years before I upgraded to a 55, I would never do that again, nightmare...espceially when the thing spawns...100% water change, yeah,,,that was fun...don't do it man

My RBTA never spawned, it only split. Sometimes tehy get pretty big, but really only when they're hungry. They get big to increase their surface area and chances of getting food. So if they are kept fairly well fed they won't get toooo huge. I wouldn't keep any sps in with it though. But I have been completely fine with the anemone and mushrooms, xenia, and polyps.
There's my 14 with two BTA's. They are happy and I have had no problems.

phylia----i have a frogspawn, leather, candycanes, digi's, rics, zoas.

ATX- yes i am in college.....with a 6 gal right now but i am upgrading to a 12 in the next two weeks??? why do you ask??

internet---well my buddy has a RBTA and he thinks its spliting so he said it would be like the size of a baseball

i mean i might not be able to get a RBTA.....is there any other small nemes???

No problems at all, here's mine in a 7 gallon. They do grow very fast, this was my 3rd one in the 7 gallon over 2 years time :)

I'm going to Univ of Tx San Antonio next year and I'm curious on how easy it is to take care of an aquarium in college. That 14 gallon I showed you was the one I set up for my dorm room.

I've got a 12g in my dorm room at University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, and it's not so bad. However, I am an RA, so I have a room to myself. Honestly, I think it would be tough with a roommate, but should be totally doable.

Talk to your roommate about it ahead of time to try to avoid any problems. The last thing I want to read about is how a roommate got drunk/angry and did something to your tank.
