now that is scary!!!

actually, here is the rose anemone i picked up today just over 6 inches at the base when fully? (maybe still acclimating) puffed out!

i am starting to appreciate anemones after all these years of lps and sps...and a little zoo/ricordea tank!!! ;)

a real beauty and my second fav anemones right after haddoni carpets!

here is an updated pic of my rose (actually, my wife wanted it...i was going to get a nice cheap gbta) after a couple of days acclimating.

seems to be open nicely, has a tight white mouth with no sign of green anywhere. feeding nicely and seems to have chosen its fav spot already! :)

here is a further tank shot for a better size perspective. note the horrid scratches DEEP into the tank. this was formally my refugium but thave since converted it to, what was suppose to be a zoo/ricordea tank...note the sps creeping in ;), but now houses recovering lps as well.

i use 2x250w de mh (pfo reflector 10k ab and ocean light ab 20k) very light skimming, a small refugium, no carbon, no ozone, no uv and weekly 30g to 70g water changes that uses 'old' water from my 180g zeo tank which also receives a 70g weekly water change with nsw.

to quote a reefer on my local club forum...

sps_addict:

"There are 2 types that I know of that are circulating.
1 considered the true rose anemone, which do not have the bubble tip and does not have the green in it what so ever and the other is a RBTA (which may or may not have the bubble tip, but has some green towards the mouth, or pretty bleached [pink] to hide the green) which comes from Malaysia and Singapore.

.......There are also some hobbyist that have them as well and sells them once in awhile. They are not the same as the rbta from Malaysia and Singapore from what I remember."
