A spoiled fish in a 12gal

Thinking of spoiling a fish in a small nano tank. its a 12 gallon half hexagon tank. I think clowns are too big for a small nano like this, an ideas on what fish i can spoil? Other than an angler or something. open to some cool inverts also (other than hermits and snails) I was thinking harlequins but i don't wanna keep looking for starfishes.

If I was going to do this, I would get a 6 line wrasse. They tend to be little bastards to other fish. But alone is perfect. And its honestly tough to find a fish with cooler coloration.

Candy basslet if you can afford it.

a second option, and a cheaper option would be a blue spotted jawfish. You'd have to run the tank at cooler temperatures but it would be a worthwhile endeavor.

Any of the Pygmy Wrasses, there are three to choose from, you can view them on Live Aquaria site in the nano section or in the reef safe wrasse section. They are totally not anything like most wrasses and if I had a small tank it would have one of these guy's in it.

Was going to vote for the pygmy possum wrasses as well. I've had the yellow banded and tanaka's. The little yellow banded was almost too cute, carefully curious.

The Yellow banded is my favorite of the three. I would get one now but my Cherub is called A Hole for a reason, and I don't think this timid of a fish would do well with Captain A Habb bothering and chasing it all the time.

Blue spot jawfish need a MUCH larger tank.

I would go with a pair of nano gobies.
Catalina gobies would be perfect. They need cooler water so a special species tank is perfect. And they have great color.

Personally, I'd go with one of the smaller mantises, such as G. smithii, G. ternatensis, N. curacaoensis, or P. ciliata. I have a peacock in my 20g with a few softies, some macro and an orangetail blue damsel (I would only advise mixing with fish if you're certain you have a "smasher" type, which typically prey upon mobile inverts more than fish, and go with a fish that will stay in the water column more, so no gobies, blennies, dragonets etc.). I love him though, beautiful and intelligent, everyone that comes over wants to ask about him. However, if I could do it over again, I would have waited longer to get my hands on one of the smaller species I listed above, since I'm almost positive he'll need a bigger tank eventually. Another great option would be a pistol shrimp & goby pair. You could even splurge a bit on one of the pricier ones, since there wouldn't be any competition for food or aggressors in the tank. If I were in your shoes and I had some extra cash I'd look into the dracula or maybe a white cap if you can find one. Some other great options are the yasha and the classic hi fin red banded goby. Good luck

If you're going to have Mollies, why not just make it freshwater? You can throw in a school of neon tetras to keep your mollies company.
