A sudden Featherduster

Suddenly I have a small featherduster on my LR. I am thrilled with this. Do I need to start adding photoplankton now? and if so, how often?

That is very exciting, the first time you have conformation that there is indeed something to the term "live rock"... Just keep doing what you're doing and you should see thousands of them soon enough... Congrats

My live rock is doing very well actually. Most of the white area from where I split a large peice is now green and purple. A peice of base rock I had bought seperate from the LR is getting lots of bright purple on it. But the FD has been by far the most exciting so far.

My next few steps that are planned are
upgrade to t-5 lighting.
Hook up the plumbing for my sump (I need another pump first)
get 2 clown fish. possibly onyx clowns.
start getting corals.

You will be pleasently surprised at the things you will find on your live rock.. I personally have found things a year later that I am quite sure I hadn't added to my system... "Live Rock---the gift that keeps on giving" =0)

I ordered it from Live Aquaria. A friend and I ordered together, he has a 20g and I a 30 so we ordered 45lbs of cured Fiji and split it. It was shipped on a Tues and arrived on Wends (only $10 extra for overnight.) there were nice large peices with lots of coraline. We barely had any die off and the cycle only took about 2 weeks total. We were both very happy.

I had a couple peices of base rock I bought local in the tank buried about 2 inches deep in my sand for support, and I plan to add a couple more peices from local when I see the shapes I want.

Just curious about the source. I've been familiar with TampaBaySaltwater.com for some time. Knew one guy that ordered LR from them and it was pretty nice with lots of stuff on it. Prolly have better luck with die off from them since it comes in fresh from the Gulf.

I was in Tampa last weekend and wanted to get by their shop but had no time for anything but the VT /BC game for the ACC championship.

I remember speaking with the folks over at Tampa Saltwater and they could not have been any more helpful than they were... Good people...

I went to TampaBaySaltwater.com the opening page of that site kicks booty. the way you can drag your pointer through the water.

Yeh... I like to drag my pionter through the water.

Oh come on, you all thought the same thing.
