A taste for zoa's

Just want to share a little frustration I've faced over last few days. Last week noticed one of my very nice green and olive zoo colonies just seemed to disappear into a small fleshy spot in about a day. I just kinda shrugged it off for the time being. Day by day I noticed more of my zoo colonies shrinking at an amazing rate..thinking maybe some kind of parasite? Before I had the chance to mess around with tank much I end up with a nasty flu, stuck pretty much to the couch for a couple of days. Then one day as I'm in misery on my couch I see my beloved gold spot rabbitfish going to town on what is left of my zoo's. With what energy I had I jumped up and pulled as much of the remaining zoo's out of the tank and into the safety of the frag tank. So needless to say I lost more than half of my zoo's and I guess I am no longer able to keep any softies in my tank..all sps now. So from what I pulled out I will be fraggin soon..very nice pinks, greens, reds, etc... In the months I've had the rabbitfish I'm very attached so he wins out over the zoo's..*sniff*

haha..yes indeed i do now. The 3 main bottom rocks of tank were covered in zoo's..now just bare rock..time to find some not so light hungry sps to go down there. Anyone with some suggestions?

Isn't that an oxymoron?? ;)

I believe Montipora digitata would be good for a lower light area.

yea in a sense it is. there is still plenty of light, i've got 500 watt on 65, shouldn't be much of a prob for anything. maybe i can make the bottom all monti's...hmmm..

Sorry to hear about that Jessica. But it does sound like you some wheels turing all ready to replace them. I hope it works out for you.
By the way, those torches I got from you a while back, they are doing awesome!
John

Glad the torch is doing great :) Well the fragging began tonight so once everything has started to spread on the plugs I will put them up for sale, a few weeks I would guess. thanks for everyones interest over PMs but not ready to sell yet

Monti caps should do nicely too.
