A. tenuis question

Can someone provide me with some info on this coral? I recently purchased a wild colony of this from my LFS and wanted to know everyone's experience with this SPS.

Here is what mine looks like:

It also came with two acro crabs on it and commensal feather dusters living inside the branches. The coral seems to be unaffected by it. Thanks.:D

Nope long as they are smooth shelled, not hairy. They are a pair of good crabs, and the good ones usually have a black mask.

Yep they both have black mask and are white, smooth little crabs. You think the commensal feathers living inside the actual stalks will hurt it? They don't seem to be.

Thanks again,
Bill

I've had my colony for 7 months and find they grow very well, but will lighten up in color if exposed to high lighting. Also, they like lots of current.

BTW, very hardy coral. Though cultured is always the best choice, if you're going to get a wild colony, the tenuis is probably a better choice as it's much hardier than most acros. Just remember to keep parameters stable for it, and it should do quite well for you.

Thanks everyone. I do like the colors on it and I hope they hold up and maybe even get a little deeper in coloration. I am running 10k XM 2x250 watts with 2 UVL T5 Super Actinics and love the growth an look of the color combination it provides. Growth rate on all my corals have been incredible with this setup.

Hopefully this coral grows so well I can frag it out about 6 months or so.
