Hopefully a clown goby thread hasn't been done recently. I was watching my ycg today and smiling at his antics, I'd love to hear some stories or see some pictures of yours :)

Here's my little guy, he's absolutely in love with his fox coral and defends it from anyone who gets too close - including me!

I just put my ycg in the tank March 30. A few days ago I watched him try to perch in the clowns' mushrooms. They chased him out so he snuck in their mushrooms from the back. That didn't last long either lol

Unfortunately lost this little guy to marine velvet after being in my tank for a year :(

ignore the bubble algae, my emerald crabs were on strike. I don't think the goby would let them near its home :D

Nice gobies guys, keep 'em coming!

Peggy - do you have a simple program like Paint on your computer? If so, all you need to do is select 'image stretch/skew' and reduce it to 150x150 pixels or smaller. Then you can upload it to RC to use as your avatar :)

Here is an older shot of one of my two clown gobies. I have both since Sept 2002.

I have been watching them closely this week since one was looking quite large. The other smaller on hanging out on the inside of an acro. It seems that they have formed a patch there. Well I knocked the arco over this evening and as I was placing it back I looked to see what this patched looked like and what did I see. EGGS!!!!!

I am going to be a daddy!!!

Did the clown gobies tear up your acro? I was thinking of keeping pairs, but I was told that they tear up acro colonies when they breed.

They have worn a spot on up in the bottom of one trunk of branches. It is about the size of a clown goby. So maybe an 1" long by 3/8" wide. I guess the smaller goby is the male and he is hanging in that spot.

I have never seen them nip or do any other damage to any of my SPS. They tend to hang out in several of them.

After having mine for 4 years now, I can say that they have never killed an SPS. This patch is the only damage I have ever seen. And it almost looks like thye have carved this out.

Great pics guys! I remember when I first saw these guys at the LFS, I thought they were the coolest fish I had seen since Longnose Hawks. Are these guys bred very succesfully in captivity yet? I know ORA gets them in every now and then. Congrats Drouner!

Here is mine....had him about 2 years. Neat little guy, always seems happy to see me (or the food...lol)
