A Toadstool with a Temper!

The mad reefer
My Toadstool Leather recently told me where to go, and it did so in no uncertain terms!

Two months ago I purchased a nice Tyree Sarcophyton at a LFS. Brought it home and glued the base rock it came on to my live rock reef. A week later I upgraded my reef from a 4 gallon pico to a 10 gallon tank, necessitating another move for the Toadstool. I had no problem, and the Toadstool seemed happy. I guess it liked it's new, larger home because it started to grow. But then, three weeks later it began to shade another coral; so once again, it had to be moved. However, following that move, it had had enough of me messing with it and the Toadstool threw a temper tantrum. :D

At first it flopped way over to the left and didn't extend its polyps very much.

Three or four days later it extended its polyps but flopped way over to the right.

Another few days passed before Mr. Toadstool decided that it had punished me enough, and now it stands erect once more.

The moral of the story: don't mess around too much with Toadstool leathers unless you're willing to put up with their abuse.

That sounds about right for a toadstool. All of mine have been finicky when moved, but once they are in the right spot they will grow like crazy.

They are super finicky when I glued mine cause my big turbo snail would knock it over it didn't open up for like two weeks I thought it was done now it's open up all day and night
