a water change in real time

my sump is a standard 48" x 18" x 20" 75 gallon aquarium

okay... we hit bubbles about 15 minutes ago and refilled the sump. The Mag7 inside the water mixing barrel had heated water up to 74F. I pump new water into the sump so it gets diluted before hitting the display tank. The two water returns in the display tank have mixing eductors (penductors) on them which also helps to dilute any new water entering the system.
It looks like a good water change- no corals slimed up or showed any reactions.

What is the reason for using wet skimming to remove water? To export bound up phosphates from using the lanthanum chloide?

to export phosphates that have been bound up to the LaCl2.

LaCl2 acts as a flocculent. It attracts phosphates, binding instantaneously. The 10 micron bag "catches" this flocculent. The skimmer also removes this stuff.

When you pour a Lanthanum product into a mechanical filter such as a micron sock you'll notice that the filter gets a "sticky" feeling.
