A year from paper to reality new pics

Well it's been a year from when I got the bright idea to have a 500 gallon tank made. Yes I am still married Although I have hidden all my wife's pointy shoes for my safety. It's been a year full of learning, joy and frustration. Thanks to josh and reef central I have made it. Dispite moving after the tank was set up. Here some pics from begining to now.

how the heck did that CL pump blow out. and i hope that wasn't sucking or pushing from the bottom of the tank w/ 500gal over it!!!! :eek1:

unfortunatly there was 500 gallons over it. I grabbed a towel and stuffed a towel in the close loop intake and shut all the return valves. Then frantic pump exchange. More pics on the way.Spec's that I can think of off the top of my head are.
Close loop pump is a 5700 gph.
4 400watt 14k bulbs
4 400watt 20k bulbs
3 250watt 10k bulbs
I run 2 protein skimmers one wet one dry.
1.25 horse chiller.
Reefkeeper 2 for light and pump control
Nautilus autotop off.
Korallin C1502 calcium reactor.
Bunch of mangroves growing nice now in my refuge

you are freaking lucky you were around!!!!!!! :eek1: that is one reason i will NEVER EVER NEVER have my tank drilled on the bottom...i would be worried about it all the time. sleeping at night is nice

any idea why it blew???

there was a defect in the pump. All things good now. Yes that is a majestic angel. No problems with him and my emperor angel, 99% sps tank only. If I had a bunch of LPS I would never risk it.
