A620 first pics

Ok so I took 600 pics and filled up the 512MB SD card once and almost a 2nd time. :)

Got it last night but didn't play with it until today at work with the nano (first 3 pics being the pc lit nano and the last 3 being 14k MH).

Pics have been cropped only and no flash (I was playing between different settings on the cable but I'm guessing Aperture control was my most used). I haven't started to do post processing but will soon I'm sure.

All pics handheld (last 3 are held in a 2.5G tank held down in a grow out tank at Coral Dynamics so I was lucky to get decent shots):

First pic taken (surprised that it came out good):

Fortunately only the work tank showers me with these lovely (fortunately tiny and easy to eradicate) rare limited edition corals (using this guy in a pest presentation this month for my local club):

Coral Dynamic corals (I spent way too much time taking pics there):

Same shot just focused on a spot I thought was cool:

A frag I gave Coral Dynamics sometime ago. Unfortunately my colony is no more b/c of overgrowth of corals. :(

Everytime I come in I drool over this (along with everyone else although it's not a fast grower):

Slowly but surely getting the hang of it. Once I'm more comfortable I'm going to go for more magnification ie the Raynox 220 I believe.

Very nice indeed. That camera takes some great photos natively. Just imagine what it will be like once you get a macro lens.

Keep us posted please.

Just some more pics (lower res for my club board and not cropped to my liking but still decent for dirty glass and no tripod):

Definitely going to go back through and post the nice and large pics (cropped) since they are appreciated more here. :)

Nice pics, I can't wait to get my Canon A620 next week. :)

If you haven't already get a LARGE (1GB or greater) SD card. I started out with a 512 and I rapid fire pics so I filled it up in 45 mins.

Swapped out to 1GB and it's smooth sailing. Now to wait for the lens adapter. :(

Thank you for sharing your pictures. I am also looking to purchase the A630. However, I would like to use it for more fish photo. As you know the fish is a little more challenging (moving) , I wonder you have any success taking any fish photo with the Marco feature? Possible - some samples photo...thx.

PS: you know there’s a $50 company mail-in rebate offering for this camera
:D

I can probably get fish pics but with a macro it will be hard but I'll try.

Didn't know on the rebate. Details?

I have this camera and cant take a picture half that good, lol. Can you explain what settings are how you do it, lol. Great shots and great shooter!

Take LOTS of pictures ... if nothing else you learn fron your failures ...

Well I got in the Raynox. Not too impressed thus far but I didn't have time to play with it much.

Photo settings for MH-TV, adjust based on light intensity, macro mode, cloudy white settings, burst shots (since I don't use a tripod this gives me a chance at a good shot) and ISO of 50. I still need to learn more about cameras in general.

Trying to figure out if a telephoto with the raynox on the end will give me the macro shots I want of corals deeper in the tank.

Thanks James-I forgot to put the 56K warning on the thread. :)

Couple more pics:

Raynox added on:

I really need to pick up a book and learn more to figure out what to do etc.
