I had been emailing Tim at ABC Reefs for a week or so about a few things I was looking for... he was able to get them without any trouble, so I made the road trip up to Syracuse today.
I'd say I was pleasantly surprised, except that wouldn't do it justice. ABC BLOWS AWAY any of the shops I've been to around here. Tanks are spotless, animals are colorful, active and healthy, variety/selection is second to none and prices are more than reasonable. Tim seemed to know about everything he had, and really seems to in the business because he loves the hobby.
I highly recommend making the trip - it's well worth the 2+ hours of driving.
Since I'm sure someone will ask, I bought an aquacultured rose BTA, and orange plate coral, a pearl bubble coral, and an orange rhodactis polyp. The plate and bubble coral settled in quickly and look great. The RBTA and rhodactis polyp are still adjusting. I hope to get some pics later this week. It was everything I could do to resist buying a pair of aquacultured banghi cardinals or a couple acan frags.
