? about bitten fin heal time...

I recently introduced a spotted toby into my semi aggres reef tank. I knew that they were notorious for fin nipping but decided to roll the dice. Its been 2 weeks since he was introduced to the tank and i thought all was well until today i noticed that there was a half moon bite out of my GSM's dorsal fin!! She is probably twice the size of this little fellow... and i havent noticed any in tank scurmishes... but they must have had it out. The toby is fine and the marroon really seems to be unaffected as well.

My question is how long does it typically take for fins to regenerate? An estimate would be fine.

If i see things getting any worse my new friend is going back to the LFS. I can let anyone mess with my GSM as she is probably my favorite fish in the tank. She has a bubble tip the size of dinner plate which she rarely leaves so im not really quite sure how this happened in the first place?! All other tankmates are fine. Water params are ideal.

if nutrition and water quality is good it doesn't take long...week to two weeks depending on the amount of damage.

Thanks guys.... thats kinda what i was thinking... but i really didnt know and couldnt remember reading anything about it specifically either here or in my books. I have them all eating vitamin enriched foods so they should be good as far as that goes.

For being less than 2 inches long... that toby really has a set of teeth!! Like a fish-fin cookie cutter. Oh well... he is the last fish to go into my tank, so i guess hes got to make his way to establish himself.
