about featherdusters?

hey everyone,

i don't know too much about featherdusters, but how can you tell if/when a duster is going to split?

i have a hawaiian duster and i noticed it has 2 "roots", when i got it a couple weeks ago it had 1. is it in the process of splitting??

that is how the coco worms look, they will not split off

like said above they dont split. The crown is made up of two halfs that go around each side . If the feather duster releases its crown its a bad sign that your water parameters are bad. They make different tubes to retract into. My fealther duster tubes splits down at the bottom end too. The live in the tube and make it with slime from their body. If you feel the end very lightly it prob is hollow. They go into it when threatened .

i picked it up from petco, pro'bly mislabelled. it seems pretty healthy tho, i just thought maybe it was cloning or something. i don't know anything about duster physiology so thought i'd ask.
