A little known fact is that Drs. Foster and Smith and especially LiveAquaria loses money on it's shipping. This is not the case on short distance orders or packages that are extra lightweight and small.

The point is "AT THE END OF EVERY DAY, WE COLLECT LESS SHIPPING THAN WE PAY OUT TO THE SHIPPERS ". We actually ship packages at a loss. That is especially the case in our LiveAquaria.com division where every package is large in size and heavy in weight. In LiveAquaria alone , we lost over $300,000.00 in shipping fees in 2006,-- Thanks to high fuel costs and surcharges.

Please understand that I am EXPLAINING-- not complaining.

LiveAquaria.com was not intended to be a money making scheme but rather our labor of love and contribution to the hobby. I have never been shy about asking for help in the way of orders as there are no dues to be a friend and supporter of LiveAquaria's fish and coral cartel. If you keep ordering that will give us the buying power to purchase the elite of livestock and increase the supply lines, therefore offering even more.

LIVEAQUARIA.COM is YOUR voice to the industry and has replaced the older concepts such as AMDA, which never was, or will become, an industry leader to represent the hobbyist.

i am a local (WI) and an avid suporter of your endever - i have toured your facility and know many of the people who work there. i understand the the committment you have made to this hobby and greatly appreciate it. i have attended both of the previous conferences as a trader and will be there again this year. i guess what i'm trying to say is; you and your vision to the future of our hobby is to be commended. in the last couple years i have boughten the majority of my corals from you and will continue to do so.
a simple thank you i guess sums it up best.........

I too agree with johnanddawn on this one. I first hand have had the wonderful experience of seeing the foster and smith company at work.

I have nothing but rave reviews for a company as large as yours that still puts the customer first no matter what. I have seen the donations going back into the community, I have seen the staff spending whatever time it takes to make sure that a customer has all of their questions answered and that they walk away happy, and I have seen the passion and compassion that the staff have for this hobby. To them it's more than a place of employment.

For those of us who are truely in the hobby it's comforting to know that one of the "big boys" truely has our interests in mind and will fight for them without having us ask because it's the right thing to do.

I will to say that you have always been the best the shipping charges. I have never thought twice when placing an order with you on the shipping charges. You are the best
