Well I went to my lfs and had my water tested after a full week of my tank running and found that my nitrits were still high. I haven't turned my lights on yet and I have no alge growing you know that nasty brown stuff. So im wondering if I should start running the lights in my tank now to get that alge going and then put in the tank cleaners in or what? And if I need to turn the lights on how long ? If anybody can help me that would be great.

I would start an 8 hour/day light cycle. Also looks like it's time to start weekly water changes to lower those nitrates.

yes, water changes. and a little light. I would only go for 6 hours though IMO.
but...

I would also advise you to go and get some Biozyme (nitrificating bacteria) and dose a few times with that to get your rocks nice and full of that stuff. Also if you have an all-in-one tank (nanocube ect) clean the media, and sponges you may have in the back with saltwater.
