Hi all,

A big news for fairy & flasher wrasse enthusiasts was released !

A Cirrhilabrus and a Paracheilinus were discovered in northern part of New Guinea Province of Indonesia but they are waiting to be named.

Some persons already knew their scientific names but they cannot be used in any publication, for the authors do not hope their names to be published anywhere.

One of the most leading ichthyologists Dr. gerald R. Allen just informed me as shown below. I am sure to show their names and photos on the web after their publications.

Dear Hiroyuki,
CI is mounting a big press campaign about the work we've been doing in New Guinea. They should not have released the new species names. The species descriptions have not been published yet, but should be out within the next two months. I will inform you as soon as they are named.
Best wishes, Gerry

Hiroyuki, do you have pictures or links to pictures? I have many dives in that area so I am wondering if I have seen them previously.

As far as seen in the photo the Paracheilinus looks somthing like a hybridyzed one but Gerry Allen has surely examined. It seems one of the P. mccsokeri complex, but I am not sure. As he states, it will be published whitin two months.

........ The shape of its tail reminds me of a hybrid cross like filamentosus x flavianalis.........

Am I the only one who sees a walrus talking on the phone when I click on those links?

Is there something wrong with that?
