ABS or PVC?

I was in Home Depot buying pluming supplies the other day. They had some pre-cut 2' pieces of ABS pipe in the diameter I needed which was great because I certainly didn't need 10' to finish the project. I have never had any experience with ABS tubing and was wondering if anyone knew of any pros or cons? From what I can tell it's just black hard plastic, much like PVC. I certainly like the look of black tubing over white PVC so I'm going to use it as long as it's not going to leach a chemical or warp or something along those lines.

From what I understand, ABS is fine to use.

it's ok to use, but fittings are less common and it's difficult to glue to PVC

There are far more fittings and such for pvc. Other than that it would work IMO. I would not attempt a glue joint with PVC and ABS . Check with Harvel pipe you can get black PVC.
