Abyzzamerica DC pumps

The A100 is really diminutive in size, but packs impressive specs at 2245gal/h and 19.6ft head pressure for such a small footprint.
Abyzz A100 so small, but so strong is excellent.
I will have the tank cycling hopefully in 3 weeks upon return from a business trip to China, I will post my impressions of the A100.
It will be interesting to see a post impressions about the pump.

Clorox, where can I read about your aquarium?

Nice little pumps, I have three A200 pumps running the closed loops on my 600 UK gallon reef tanks.

They work really well, are very quiet and the best part is the control you have over them.

For even more control check out the Abyzz Control System, I really like the idea of the light sensor allowing the pumps to go into a reduced output mode at night.

Of course not! So many of their pumps go kerput in the first year they'd end up replacing the pump 10 times...and then have to charge 10x the price!

German Pump War! :bounce2::bounce3::bounce2:

Edit: I have to add, it would be nice to have something between the Jebao pumps and the Royal Exclusive & Abyzz pumps. I know there are many satisfied customers, but the Chinese pumps' failure rate eliminates them from consideration for me and many others. The German pumps' quality appears to be without equal, but their price puts them out of reach for many people. Perhaps it's just a matter of time for the DC pump market to mature, but there are many good, reliable & reasonably priced AC pumps available without spending the price premium that RE & Abyzz ask.

Aquabee up8000 dc pump. :strange:

Niether the Abyzz or the Royal Exclusiv pumps have any parts sourced from China short of maybe some IC's or transistors. If you pick up one of either of these pumps and then pick up a Chinese DC pump, you'd feel the difference. These Germany pumps weigh 3x as much because they are built with quality components. These are not some chintzy plastic pump. Instead these are well built and well engineered. They Have titanium parts instead of stainless or plastic. They are safe when used externally and won't leak unlike the Chinese ones tend to. They are much more efficient gallon for gallon, infinitely more reliable, have a better warranties etc. I could go on and on but I suspect it will fall on deaf ears for some. Make no mistake though.. Just because they move water and have variable speed doesn't make them anything like a cheap Chinese DC pump. No more so than you can compare a Moped to a Ducati or Harley.

I will put it another way for you. Some may be happy driving a Kia or Hyundai while others prefer the quality of a Mercedes or BMW. Some prefer the fact that the aforementioned cars have metal panels and don't sound tinny when you shut the doors becuase they and aren't made out of plastic. They have real leather and not vinyl. Of course some of that is an analogy but I think you get my point. Like all cars get you from point A to point B, pumps move water. Some just do it better, more reliably, quieter and more efficiently and have better warranties just in case you ever need it. You do get what you pay for in that market.

Personally, after 27+ years in this hobby, I've learned that quality is much more important than cost for me. Especially when some of us have tens of thousands invensted in our reefs and live stock. A return pump failure is completely unacceptable to me. I will NEVER sacrafice quality over cost. To each their own though. Everybody is different.

I agree totally, and I personally think it is the same for anything in life. As an example, I am also a dive instructor, living in Canada. I do 100's of dives a year, including through the winter in freezing temperatures under ice. My son who is now 16 also dives, and I certified him at 10 years old once he was allowed. I ONLY buy quality products, such as my regulators which to me are life support systems that have to be relied on 100% every single dive! I would not put my sons life in the trust of a cheaply built product. Even doing many more dives than the average person, I have never had a single issue with any of my equipment. That being said, I also do the regular maintenance when it needs to be done too. Maintenance is always a part of safety and ythings running smoothly.
