How can I tell if my AC Jr has serial port?

Look at it. You can see it on the outside. It's round and has eight holes for the pins.

Ok so it does have 9 pin din connector on it.

Yes and the word serial right above it.

It has the socket but the word serial in not written on it.

The IO connector is also a 9 pin DIN I believe. I can't unplug it to check.

another question: what software do you guys use to connect the AC jr to computer. If telneting, what is the command in DOS window?

Go to the dos command prompt and type telnet and the IP address. telnet 192.168.1.50 It will ask for username and password and you're good to go. Check out the internet for a whole bunch of telnet commands that they don't give you in the manual.

As for software, I don't connect with any software. I use the web interface on my ACIII.

The ACjr wont have an IP address. Easiest to use the Aquaconnect software from Neptune (a free download for the lite version), or can use the Windows built-in application, hyperterminal - hypertrm at the DOS prompt. Give it a name, the 'connect using' will likely be a com port (com1 typ, but can be another depending on serial port setup.) Port settings should be 9600,8,n,1,none. GL!
