ac3 and wga54g

After reading a couple of threads about this and tripping over the cable running from the fish room to the computer room, I decided to give the wga54g a try. I do know a little about computers and I already have a wireless network at my house. I just can't seem to make the 2 talk. Is there a link to the specific protocall (step by step) I know it is something simple, but I can't seem to put my finger on it. Thanks in advance

What are you using on the AC3 end as an access point (for example - Linksys WGA54G Wireless-g gaming adapter)? You should be able to ping the wireless bridge device from you computer. If you can not then you have a wireless ap problem. If you can ping your device but not the AC3, then you have an IP or gateway issue on the AC3.

The game adapter only uses WEP security so you need to make sure your wireless router is set up to wep security and not the newer WAP.

I use the same wireless game adapter with my AC3 and the hardest part was getting those two to talk with the wep settings.

once they were talking the AC3 was pretty easy to access.

lvreefer i'm using the wga54g game adapter. einstein I currently am not running wep or wap (Have all that stuff turned off) Still have not been able to make them talk. here is a little info.
my linksys router has an ip of 192.168.1.1
the G/A for right now has an ip of 192.168.1.2 ( have tried several #)
and the AC3 has an ip of 192.168.1.50
all subnets are 255.255.255.0
when i have the AC hard wired it hooks up perfect (although after last night and this morning it took a min to get back up an running) I do not know how to ping but when I put 192.168.1.2 in the explorer bar it says there is no connection. I'm sure it is something easy ( well maybe) einsteins, I would think with the wep & wap turned off it would be easy for them to talk.any more help out there?

ok a little more info
I figured out how to ping, and this is what I found (I also put a laptop on the W/G)
first with the game adapter and laptop, I can get on the internet.
With the lap top i can ping the main pc and the router
and can ping the game adapter
can not ping the laptop from main computer nor can I ping the AC3
I do beleive in future products AC4 wireless shoud come standard

Do you have a firwall on the main PC?
Some firewall apps actually have an IP range that they accept.

IF you do have a firewall on the main PC do you have the same thing on the laptop?
If not this could be why the laptop can ping the GA and the pc cant.

Hang in there...The toughest thing on my set up was getting my PC to talk to the game adapter, once that was working the rest was easy.

What router do you have? Linksys?
If so you might want to call their supprt line...they are actually quite good with support...

My WGA54G worked right out of the box, no adjustments needed whatsoever. Must be something in the way your network is set up. It may have to do with security settings. PM sent.
