Acam Maxima or Scolly ?

Well you dont need a picture to know for certain it is not going to be an Acanthastrea maxima. It's impossible to have one. Regardless of what your best friend, LFS, even your mother will tell you. There only found in one body of water, in the Oman waters. And the local king aint giving em up, period... So on that note, likely a Scoly ;)

i have found trough research that they are available from time to time . and they are not 100% indegieous to the Oman waters .so do a bit of home work and check it out for your self . i responded like this one other time and that person really went haywire on me so i will not respond to obnoxious argurments .

I actually have done alot of homework on the subject and find the argument moot, so I too will refrain ;)

...don't be too sure about that. ;)

Haha listen to you guys :D
Untill you have proof otherwise, maybe you guys will have something worth listening to...
However, up to this point every reputable publication regarding taxonomy says otherwise ;)

+1 justin

i cant refer to any one specific religion here, so ill put it this way...

people in that country, and that region, for that fact HATE us. they could really care less about our aquarium hobby... so chances are that pigs will fly before the omani king even thinks about letting us crop up his share of the ocean.

fat chance indeed! and an even fatter chance than anyone will be able to afford them anyways...

Funny part of it all Eric, is that if most could see a true Acan maxima, we probably wouldnt be having this discussion! There pretty large and bulky and very dull in coloration!

Here's an image of a scientifically classified true Acanthastrea maxima:

A far cry from a must have coral IMHO :strange:
