Acan color changing

So I just noticed the other day my Acan colony with about 15 or so heads has started changing color. When I bought it, it was all orange with a bit of lighter orange around the "mouth" of each head and now it's developing a nice teal blue around the edges. It's really turned into a gorgeous coral in the tank. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this happen with lps corals "coloring" up after a few months of stability in the tank.

Also on a side note my golden torch has really taken off with growth and color and I'm growing coralline like crazy. I'm hoping these are signs that my tank is finally maturing to get some of the corals I really want to have

Yes, although not just from stability. While stability is important, lighting also can play a role. IME, acans under higher light tend to get more red with white stripes. And sometimes more orangey red ones show other colors in lower lighting.

I have a similar thing going on with my orange acans. They were totally orange to begin with. Then I saw it getting some green colour and later blue around the mouth and edges where tentacles come out.

My acans change colors as the grow, also as the food I feed them changes I notice a slight effect on the overall "color pop" "fluff" of the coral. I have a really nice bright pink and baby blue acan that when I feed Doc Eco for a long time will begin to shift to light red and teal green, then back to pink and blue when I move back to Mysis. the coral is much more "fluffy" when its redish/teal, and much more compact as the pink and blues. but happy and growing both ways.
