IME, they do put out sweepers, but not really long like euphyllia. They are quite agressive if they get a hold of something though. They put out this mucus too and if it touches something the polyps guts reach out along the mucus to eat whatever it's touching. Here's a pic of my rainbow trying to eat some kenya tree:
It's a lousy pic, but here's my little guy attacking some nearby zoas. The zoas reopened a few days later, and I haven't seen the acan sting them since; they seem to have come to some sort of understanding.
