Acan echinata vs Acan lord and maxima

Well, no question whatsoever which is tougher!

Today, somehow my snails managed to pry off my orange acan echinata and it fell on a 25 head acan lord colony and a 1 head acan maxima. Every lord polyp that was under the echinata, about 8-10 are completely 100% gone like they never existed as is the maxima head:mad2: The echinata looks as happy as i have ever seen it. You would never even know it was laying upside down touching something all day.

Anyone want a orange echinata colony??? I gotta charge about $500 for it though considering it has about $150-200 worth of food in its belly right now!

That blows. They don't even have to touch to kill though. I had one extend its mesenterial filaments and kill from a couple inches away. The echinatas are brutal.

Tell me about it! This same echinata did that about 2-3 months ago and killed 4-5 heads off of a 75 head acan lord colony that was about an inch away. I moved it over a few inches(right over the aussie lord and maxima ) and epoxied it down.


I just bought a few larger snails though and one of them must have knocked it off or the epoxy gave out because it was definitely 100% secure like a week ago.


Of course, the echinata was by FAR the cheapest of the 3!! Right now he has about 4x what he cost me in his belly:mad2: I coulda fed him caviar and it would have been cheaper! Just 2 inches further over and he would have just fell on some green or orange zoos.
