Acan feeding question

First off, yes I'm new to the hobby. Just picked up 2 acans and doing my research on everything. Question is should I be trying to get food to all the heads in the colony?

Feeding all the heads would be ideal, but it's really not a problem if you miss a few here & there. You'll get them the next time around.

Yes you should try to feed each one but like cloak said you'll get them next time.

I sometimes give acans Mysis or krill from tongs. I feed the heads that are extending the most first, then the rest of the colony usually opens up. After a few feedings this way for new pieces they will eventually all open up consistently. I also broadcast feed coral frenzy once a day and sometimes at night too.

What do you mean broadcast feed? Also how often should I feed them?

broadcast feeding typically just refers to feeding the whole tank and then letting whatever waft on the current.

find a schedule that works well for you. some people feed very often, some don't.

i tend to spot feed my LPS infrequently. maybe once every 4 - 6 weeks. i feed the tank heavily though, more or less a broadcast method, so they get plenty of cast off in between of pellets, nutramar ova, cyclop-eeze, etc...

it's mainly going to depend on your schedule, how it effects your tank chemistry, and whatnot.

Figure I should probably spot feed more now because the tank is young and there is not a whole lot in it
