oh, and dont forget to post the picture of yours!

The first photo posted is, without a doubt, NOT A. maxima. Im not sure its even Acanthastrea (though its likely some kind of Mussid).

From the Australian Institute of Marine Science:

Colonies are cerioid with corallites up to 50 millimetres diameter. Septa are coarsely toothed. Polyps have a fleshy mantle up to 100 millimetres diameter and with a Lobophylliaâ€"œlike texture... The fleshy mantles are more extensive than those of any other Acanthastrea.

No part of the description matches the coral shown above- sorry...

guess its not maxima... but its not a lord or scolly. larger polyp is 2" across, and the smaller one is 1" across. they are perfectly round. just sayin, bought them as maxima... anyways, i'm happy with the colors. :)

I guess the pic is deceiving?

Based on the frag plug in the front of the pic, the polyp looked about 1" across at most to me:confused:

the frag plug in the picture is 4" in front of the polyp... the polyp is bigger than the plug in the picture, kind of lets you see the scale of things i hope.
