Got this today at Coral Reef farm. I thought it was a favia, Jeff said it was an acan. Looking closer, i think it is an acan not a favia but don't know what kind.

Anyone know? I know the pic isn't that great but thats the best close ups i can get with my camera.

no flash

my first thought would be a favia, but i could be wrong. it doesn't look like any acan that i have seen before.

I thought that also but the mouths look different than a favias. You cant really tell from the pics but in person they look weird for a favia:confused:

I don't know or really care, lol, but it is freaking SWEET, i'm loving it. The green is so bright, its insane.

Didn't realize it but you can also see the acan echinata i got there today in the background as well:D It's pretty nice but is a little unhappy from his dip right now.

True it is kinda hard to tell from the pict. Looks good though, My Favia looks very similar to the pict, but it get bigger in the day if you know what i mean. it kinda sticks up the sides all over.

Yeah, my camera bites. It's also almost completely sucked in. It was only in my tank for about 20 minutes before i took the pic.

Look at night. I know that favia open up and have 1/2-1" tentacles at night, dunno about acans. Maybe they do too...

Anyway, beautiful coloration!

Acans also have tentacles that extend at night, this one looks to me like a Favia Veroni.

I googled the favia veroni and they dont look like mine at all but took me to a REALLY cool site i'd never seen before.

Found this there, it looks just like mine in person and the skeleton looks the same from when it was really receded in the dip. I think it may be an acan subechinata like this one. Either way the site has alot of cool pictures on it for ids, check it out
Heres the site and their pic of the subechinata
