acan placement, sandbed or rock

I keep hearing different things about where to place my acans, the sandbed or rock? I want my acan to re produce as fast as possible and want to be sure I'm placing them on the correct surface to help achieve this goal.

If you have a frag I'd suggest putty to mount it in a hole where the flesh is level/even with the rock/putty around it. I always drilled or chipped out an area and did it this way. It will incorporate it in the aquascape better. A large colony is tougher.

Id say mid tank level on the rock. Only b/c. On the sand, you need to leave space for many other corals that need to be in the sand ( at least thats how mine works). If you plan on adding corals that only stay in the sand....go with the rock, if not then go for the sand. I always like to think how my tank will look in a year or what corals i want to add
