The acan in my avatar is looking pretty bad lately. It has lost color and looks deflated. I'm not sure what it could be. I'm thinking it could be my GFO/GAC 24/7 as my sps look good but my LPS is starting to suffer. Is there a happy medium?

No it's been going on for about a month. It's been slowly losing some color so that the red on the sides is more of a translucent orange. The center is a weaker color as well. I thought it was dead yesterday because it looked really bad. I took it out and the polyps were rock hard. I dipped it in Coral Revive and put it back in. I came home from work and its' feeders were out. I tried feeding some squished pellets and phyto. I don't know if it got any as the shrimps were constantly trying to steal its' food.

It was doing good for several months. Grew many new heads, then all of a sudden started deteriorating.

Ok so I changed my avatar but here are the pics for comparison.

This is a few months ago:

And this is tonight:

As you can see by these really tiny pictures is that the acan has lost lots of color. Anybody have any idea what would cause this?

I have had this happen to, with several types of corals, brain, acan and lobo. They eventually went white. I think was due to a temperature increase in the tank during the summer. Surprisingly (and some will dispute this but ...) I started regular dosing of strontium, and both the scan an lobo have regained color. The brain has most of it's color back with some light areas still remaining.

It could be based on a few factors,
Light, are your bulbs getting old or did you just change them?
Alk, If alkilinity drops too low LPS will bleach.
Mag, Same as above.

My temp has been stable as it's still Winter here in SoCal. Strontium sounds interesting. I'll have to look into this. Thanks :)

My bulbs are about 3 months old. My alk and mag are fine as my SPS is doing well. It's just this acan that's having trouble.

I wonder if there are any acan pests? I haven't seen any but you never know. Thanks for the replies people.
