acan vs bubble tip anemone

OK - here's another weird one...I have an acan that has been doing very well. Today, my bubble tip anemone got up next to it, and I was worried. I checked with my favorite LFs and they said that the acan would probably sting the anemone if there was an encounter. It turns out the the acan looks like it has a chemical burn where the darned bubble tip touched it. I have been hassling the bubble tip trying to convince it to move away. I may end up super-gluing an obstacle between the two tonight. What do you folks do when you have a problem child anemone?

they will travel, its something you have to consider when buying them. Then there's they need high light, feeding and if they die, the can take out the whole tank if not found fast. Not a beginner critter in a LPS/SPS set up, but a good money maker for the LFS.

I sure wouldn't buy another one. I've had it for about a year and it was sickly - in a hospital tank for about 4 months. It was great for about a month, but since then it's been trouble - not to mention the whole tank-killing possibility. I should find a home for it - I feel compelled to take care of any critter I buy, but if anyone knows of someone who wants one - let me know.

When one of my rbta's creep from his spot and gets too close to other corals, I direct some flow at him. The extra flow usually makes them move the other way. If you have a small powerhead, or if you can move one of your loc-lines pointing towards it, try that.

Now that's a happy thing - anything that blasts aiptasia is a good critter. My acan is now doing great. The anemone has found a comfortable spot a comfortable distance away from it - at least for now.
